It seems like I remember someone writing on this board that if you live in Andover, you cannot be a boarder. You could easily verify that on the website. I also seem to remember some other schools stipulating whether you could board or not, based on proximity.

As far as living in Exeter and applying to Andover; well, they're different schools. Why should Andover care if you live in Exeter or vice-versa? Maybe they'd think that you really want the boarding, as opposed to day student, experience.

Really, I think we all fall prey to overthinking these things sometimes. I'm about to banish myself from this board for the sake of sanity! But there are such cool people on here. And I do get the occasional chuckle....

Since you live in Mass, it doesn't really matter. There is a ton of competition from other Mass students for three reasons: they live in close proximity and can easily be day students, many of them have had excellent educations to date and so are well-educated, and lots of Mass apply to preps unlike other geographical areas. All three of serve to increase competition for you.

Do you have any hooks? There's a thread on CC from last year that talks about hooks.

Oh wow. Oops. I guess I should probably get some sleep for once, atlhough that really sums up what it's become to me when it comes to applying. :)
