will a chesmitry/physics/math minor impress big medical schools ( harvard med ), or do they not care about minors

They don’t care what your minor is.
And it takes a whole lot to impress a big-name med school.

Do not expect your major or minor to impress any medical school. You’re going to have to do more than that to stand out.

Should your major or minor be the most interesting thing about your application, you may find the application season to be very very difficult.

A minor can be used to justify an interest. I rode my application on top of my dance experience, which I justified with a dance minor. Anyone can say that they did this or that (though you can and will be called on it), but a minor is tangible. Plus, they are academics.

nope. not even a little bit. {so I’ve heard} They don’t care if you choose a particularly hard mode of study, either. (Rather a major where getting a high GPA is difficult, such as engineering, or biochemistry)

I’m a biochem major… Only because I couldn’t decide between chem and bio, so I get some of both. haha.

I’m not expecting a GPA boost though, it’s what I want to study so I am.

based on what ive seen, minors/double majors matter very very little to med schools. this is ESPECIALLY true if both majors or the major and minor are in science departments. there are some schools that have secondary application questions like “what can you contribute to the educational diversity of the incoming class?”. for those schools, an additional degree in humanities or something non-science MAY help. but in all honesty, unless you are extremely interested and ENJOY learning about your second degree, it will help VERY VERY little.
