Does med stuff overshadow other programs?

I want to major in political science in college, and I have heard a lot of really good things about Johns Hopkins, but as I looked deeper into the school, I noticed it is amazing in the world of medicine. While this is great, do JH's medical programs and other med-related suff overshadow their other programs and schools--namely thier political science program?

Nope. Check out the School of Advanced International Studies -- believe me that is not overshadowed by anything and that's basically a political science place. Also I heard that the phrase "political science" was coined at JHU.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Thanks for the reply though!

Just one thing to remember, the Medical School, the Nursing School, the Hospital, and the School of Public Health all physically exist on a separate campus from the Undergraduate School at Hopkins. The Homewood campus is home to the Undergraduate programs in Arts and Sciences and Engineering, and the resources are spread throughout the Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Engineering programs.

Though there will be more pre-med students at Hopkins than at other institutions, they do not dominate and never make-up 25-30% of the Undergraduate population. And as far as the political science and international studies programs, they are both top notch especially since we are less than one hour from Washington, DC.

Actually, the phrase political science was coined at the University of Chicago...Small correction

Not according to Wikipedia:

"Herbert Baxter Adams is credited with coining the phrase 'political science' while teaching history at Johns Hopkins University."
