This thread represents a truly sick aspect of CC and the thinking of so many applicants/parents. Those who think the relative prestige of Williams, Amherst or Midd will actually make a difference in their lives are in for a rude awakening. Same is true for comparisons among many other colleges with minor distinctions and insignificant differences. Any difference that matters at all is not in prestige, but in the way the school matches the needs/personality of the student. Any Ivy League/top LAC grad may one day be working for a boss with a degree from (heaven forbid) Penn StateâIâve seen it happen too many times to count. And itâs not always because the world is unjustâitâs often because the Ivy League/prestigious college grad is a relative dud. Life intervenes and doesnât work out like a CC dreamâgo to the college that suits you best, enjoy it and learn as much as you can. And try to get over yourself.

^Posts like #81 represent a truly misguided aspect of CC that seeks to lecture the rest of the world while misrepresenting said worldâs actual opinions.
