Matters not for admission to most public universities and many privates which rely on grades through junior year for admission. However, low senior year grades could result in later withdrawal of a decision to admit. But B+ will not be considered low for any of those schools.

It is not, in and of itself, of importance for regular admission applications to schools (including your elite privates) that make admissions decisions in March and April but your end of the semester grade (which is actually your "mid-year" grade) will mean a lot because they request mid-year reports that include a transcript once the semester is over. In other words, what you did in the quarter has bearing only on what the end result may be at the end of the semester.

It may or may not matter for applications to top schools under an early action or early decision program. Usually, you don't submit mid-semester grades before decision to admit is made but such schools, often for borderline applicants, may actually send a request to you to send such grades before making a decision. Also, as noted in 1 above, bad grades in senior year can result in withdrawal of a decision to admit for an early admit.
