Does MIT accept students with "okay" grades/SAT scores?

jimmythegent: I see that Ben Jones answered a question today in his blog suspiciously similar to the one raised after your comment above which said

you can actually request to see the notes the admissions committee wrote about you.

I suggested that this was no longer correct, and today we have the answer from benjones himself:

No, admissions comments are destroyed after decisions are made. You can see the top part of your admissions summary card which contains a bunch of data that you already know anyway. Pretty boring, but you're welcome to come check it out.

So there you have it. No summary cards for review.

I came up with a crazy question...if a student has like all 800's on his SAT I and IIs, and then got a 790 in one of them, and he decided to retake because he really likes 800's and he got an 800 so that all he's got is 800800800800800800800......will the adcom think he's crazy and then turn him down?
Haha. this is just for fun. no serious discussions.

8's and 0's are really pretty... so many circles...

haha that might be... a psychological disorder. maybe they'd ask him to submit some medical forms =P

They'd snicker, point, and laugh. And then reject. =)

Or maybe they'd see his PASSION for 8's and 0's! Auto-admit, I'd say. ;)

are vision and truazn sreious? I personally think it's a little unfair to despise someone for improving his score. and maybe he just really likes seeing circles.
