^^That was my original post. I know I have 5 pages of responses, but I can never have enough. I need all the advice I can get..

My question is, though, does modeling count as an extra-curricular activity? I've been doing it for a while now and I recently got an offer from Elite model management. Does that look good on college resumes? I know it doesn't take much brain work, but it's something I really enjoy.

My only fear is that if I take up the offer from Elite, I won't have enough time for school. College admission officers will know that.. Could it hurt my chances of being accepted?

Also, does being Ethiopian help in admissions too? I know to most Americans that is considered Black (even though it's not), but being Habesha could bring diversity couldn't it?

Being Ethiopian will be a plus, but not really if you apply to Howard because it is a Nationally African American College/University.

In my opinion, modeling would definitely be an extracurricular. It’s time consuming work and you do it in your spare time.

Thanks, how does it look on college resumes?

hm yeah i’ve been offered a contract by elite too.
is that necessarily something that “stands out” from other students applying?

well it is an EC, and any EC that you devote time to is worth putting on your app. Plus, its a EC thats relatively rare, unlike the millions of applicants who partook in more mundane ECs like music, Key Club, etc. (not that any of these activities are bad, in fact I’m involved in these activities myself, its just that its something more rare and thus eye-catchy)
