<p>a778999: even if that wasn't just speculation on your part, UMD isn't MIT, and you can't compare admissions policies at different schools.</p>
<p>in my opinion.... UMD is a lot bigger of a school, so if they gave preference to siblings of current students, that would be way too many people getting in just for that reason.</p>
