Still heavy at the high end. If you liked Boston College, you might also look at Holy Cross, which reputedly has good med school acceptance. Tufts and Brandeis are also possibilities.

Did you consider Lafayette, Lehigh, or Bucknell?

i havent read through so i dont know if anyone mentioned them yet.. but you should definetly apply to Rutgers and TCNJ. both are solid safety schools for you that would give you merit aid for sure. and both have BA/MD programs that you could apply to. TCNJ is great for bio and premed.. not a big party school by any means and no big sports culture. but that doesnt mean kids DONT party and dont just like to relax and have a good time. you might even get a full ride at TCNJ.

Any list of schools with Penn on top has to be good, as it is in fact The Right Answer™ ;)

Though your location and race hurt you, I think you have a good chance at Penn, and all the more so for RD. Except for one problem:

Penn only accepts test-tube babies :P

I’m know you’re just joking about the natural-born Indian thing, but just in case, I’m in Indian citizen (born there), but have permanent residency here.

I also shook up my college list slightly again, with a refocus on engineering, because it dawned on me that I don’t want to go to medical school the normal way and deal with the stresses of MCATs and Med School admissions.
Reach:
University of Pennsylvania
Princeton University
Cornell University
Northwestern University
Target:
Carnegie Mellon University
Boston College
University of Michigan
Johns Hopkins University
Safety:
Case Western Reserve University
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University
Purdue University

The BA/MD programs I’ll apply to will probably be at Union College, Siena College, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Boston University, Rutgers, The College of New Jersey, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.

If the BA/MD programs don’t work out, then my first choices would be Cornell/Carnegie Mellon.

So would you guys say this is more balanced than the top heavy list I had before?

okay so i may not reach the ivy league credentials when thinking about a college I hope to attend… but I really want to find a great political science school to get into that would take:
a 3.43 GPA
around a 1500 on SATs
loads of extracurricular activities and around 300 community service hours

i know its not much to work with but im desperate for help!

Did you mean to start a new thread?

yes im terribly sorry 8/

Dear student,

As requested, I incorporated your scores, GPA, leadership, and extracurriculars into a systematically devised function of calculatory means that I developed to precisely calculate percent chance of admission to various universities in the US and abroad. The results are as follows (these are the percent chances that you will be accepted at the below named institutions of higher educatory education):

PLEASE NOTE: my devised system is accurate only for applicants that have reached completion of their junior year (11th grade) of high school. You statistics do not fall within this range, so I input your average statistics so far as your junior year grades. The results below reflect this incorporation.

Princeton - 9.693%
UPenn - 12.377%
Northwestern - 17.800%
Cornell - 14.140%
Boston College - 29.989%
University of Michigan - 38.098%
Carnegie Mellon - 21.145%
b*** Hopkins - 22.901%
Purdue - 77.511%
Virginia Tech - 79.005%

*Please be more specific next time, as it took me a minute to figure out which university of higher education was being referenced here.

Please note that these are only derived from my own personal formula which seems to accurately predict admissions chances pretty well. Hope that helps!

Boston College doesn’t have any engineering at all.

you can try northwestern HPME; it’s worth trying since it doesn’t affect your chance for regular admission (they have separate admission). they require SAT II in chem and math level 2.
