Does my mid-year report require an explanation?

Hey Guys!

My school only calculates GPA and rank from freshman to junior year grades. Throughout those years, I have had only one B in Calculus BC but received a 5 both on the AP test and the AB subscore and am in the Top 10 of my high school graduating class. I have applied to several elite schools. I have taken the most rigorous courseload that my school has to offer. The research class and the dual-enrollment classes are considered "post-graduate" and the rest are all APs. However, I was wondering if my mid-year report says something otherwise. The midyear does not report overall grades for year-long classes, only semester classes (in this case, AP Micro):

1st Quarter:
AP French Language: A
AP Senior English Literature: B
AP Microeconomics: B
AP Physics C: B
Dual-Enrollment Math Class (Linear Algebra): A
Research Class: A

2nd Quarter:
AP French Language: B
AP Senior English Literature: B
AP Microeconomics: B (Overall B)
AP Physics C: A
Dual-Enrollment Math Class (finishing up Linear Algebra, going into Multi): B
Research Class: A

Thanks!

You are taking a rigorous courseload and getting more A’s will help, but these kinds of colleges also look at your EC’s, leadership and other talents as well. The strongest applicants will have nearly all A’s and those other attributes, but sometimes even those students don’t get accepted, so make sure you have some schools on your list that are target or safeties that you could attend.

Bump anyone else?

They don’t send the semester averages because my school works on a 4 quarter average system.

Bump, do you guys think I should send an explanation about the midyear to the colleges?
