If you are pre-med and an engineering major should you take a C in Bio or withdraw and take it during the summer at a local college? Do medical schools just toss your application if there is a W on it? Thanks

There is no perfect outcome for this one. The adcoms have seen it all before.

The C is deadly unless it is the sole sub-par grade in an otherwise stellar transcript. No matter what, a 2.0 in the calculation of the science/math GPA is going to hurt.

Taking summer courses shows that you could not handle the load during the regular season. They want to see multiple core courses being managed at the same time.

If she really thinks that she can do better in the summer (like an A) then she should drop the current class. If the subject of the W comes up you can attribute it to some great personal tragedy that was coincidental.

If she can't get the A during the summer course start thinking of an alternative career.

dropppp
dropppppppppp
droppppppppppppppp

work hard during the summer... get the A... life goes on... nothing you can do to change the past.... make the best of the situation [by working hard over the summer] ... if she WANTS to be a doctor... she will end up as one no matter what... but she will have to workkkkkkkkk..

nd no... med skools dont just toss it aside... but dont expect to be getting into harvard med either... work hard.. make sure all the other pre-med class grades are solid [3.6/3.7 gpa+]
