My son registered PSAT at his high school on Sep. 29, 2009. He can't find his name on the student list on the test day, he asked the teacher who said he didn't register... Anyway, he was arranged in a classroom to take the PSAT exam. Now I am worrying his score won't be count into NMS? Does anyone know this situation can still have a chance into NMS? Thanks for your reply!

I assumed you have tried calling College Board? If anyone has an answer that would be them.

I’ve had good experiences when I’ve called them. Usually only on hold for a minute or two.

I’m not quite sure I understand - did he take the test? If he is a HS junior, a US citizen, took the test, and answered the questions about high school graduation year and how many years he will spend in high school, it should count. If he missed the test, there is something in the student guide booklet about an alternate way to enter the NM scholarship program. You have to write to NMSC before march 1, 2010.

It sounds like your situation is fine. They let him take the test. They had a test booklet and answer sheet to give him.

Kids register with their school to take the PSAT. There is no direct registration with College Board like there is for the SAT. As long as your S took the PSAT and the school sent in the answer sheet, he’s good to go for NMS consideration (assuming he is a junior).

My son is junior now, Last year he got PSAT 219. This year he did better than last year, so we are looking for to get in the semifinalist. Thank you very much for all of your opinion!
