Does my transcript have to be mailed from my school or can I mail it?

I was wondering if my official transcript has to be mailed from my school, or can I have it sent to me and mail everything in one packet rather than having everything come separately?

Thanks!

i think you can do both, granted make sure the transcript is sealed with a stamp or something from your school

You can do both, but if accepted the school will usually ask you submit those documents directly from the other school during the first semester you are registered.

does the same go for the secondary school report that's filled out by my counselor?

my school mailed everything directly to me and i was thinking that I'd just mail it along with my other materials all in one envelope. it will be a hassle to get my school to send it to the colleges im applying to

also, why would they ask for a copy sent directly from the high school during the first term that i enrolled? it will be difficult to get one from my high school counselor because he's dead...

Why? This is what they do. All day long. All year long.

Typically you go to your GC or the GC office with a list of schools. Some HSs make you provide addressed envelopes, some don't. Some charge a nominal amount for each transcript you want sent, some don't.

As far as the colleges are concerned, in my experience (so take it for what it's worth), they want information directly from the HS. It means it's legitimate, not tainted.

Your HS counselor being dead or alive is irrelevant. They're gettting information from the school, not from a person.

Yea my highschool charges two bucks to send it anywhere they cant send it electronically (if not its free), but that includes the 49 cent stamp and some printing fees, but w.e its only 2 bucks...
