Does ND truthfully not "cap" acceptances by high school?

I know most colleges claim they don’t, but am curious if anyone can share info on their own experience within their school. I applied RD because I was retaking the ACT in September and wanted to perfect my essays(thank God I did), but 4 students in my school applied EA and got in 4/4 (1 legacy but still deserving and would get in regardless, an athletic commit, and 2 on 100% their own merit).

So right now myself and two other regular decision applicants from my school are waiting on decisions (one already got into an ivy, so he’s a clear yes). Do you think the 4 before will affect our chances? Thanks!

I believe that they do not cap by high school if the candidates are qualified. During the Freshman send off that my son went to this past summer we met a family who said that six girls from their all-girl Catholic high school, out of a graduating class of around 60, were accepted and attending.

I agree with above. I believe there was a post by ND a few months back about how every single applicant (I think there were 6 or 7) who applied from a Chicago high school was admitted. I think it was mostly REA, but I don’t remember exactly

5 students from my Catholic high school were accepted last year, with class sizes around 220. This year, two have already been accepted REA, and I know there are several others who are waiting to hear back RD, including myself.

There doesn’t seem to be much if any statistical evidence that they cap from high schools so I wouldn’t worry too much.

there is a local high school to ND that has accepted upwards of 20 from certain classes. however, I know ND gets asked if they cap at this school a lot.

ND does sometimes get weird about admitting kids locally. They like to maintain geographical diversity, so sometimes this means taking less people from South Bend.

We had 7 students accepted from my school during the EA round, out of a class size of 110, so I don’t think there is a cap
