does no one test in this language?

I posted this question in a previous post, but it was buried in lots of general questions about the SAT IIs.

German with Listening!

I have never heard of anyone taking a German SATII. I discovered the SATIIs late (none of my teachers know what they are..no Ivy League, or really even out of state, ambitions in my school or anything) so I'm a bit lost. I had no German before this past August, when I went on a foreign exchange. I would say I am fluent in German as far as ease of conversation, but I really don't know how 'good' my German is. I can write fairly well, but I learned it more in a day-to-day style, not formal German as one learns in school. I understand everything I hear unless I'm unfamiliar with the subject matter, so I figure this test would be better for me.

Is there a good curve? What can I do to prepare? I got the big College Board book of practice tests, but that's only ONE practice test. I would love to find a guide of some sort, whether a book or a website. I remember stumbling upon a book about the reading test, but I haven't found one for listening.

Thanks a lot! Really ANY advice or tips on this test would be amazing, and I'll worship you forever :)

there's a german lang. test? j/k........it's not as popular as most subject language test, but i'm sure someone on CC will/has taken it.

The curves for SAT II foreign languages tend to be relatively tough because native speakers often take them. I believe there is a study guide on Amazon, although I don't know if there is a cassette available. I took German with Listening a few years ago. There is a listening section and a reading section; I don't remember writing anything. If you're stronger in listening, then you might do better than I did-- the listening part really threw me because I hadn't prepped at all and wasn't prepared for the format. However, if you've only had one year of German, remember that you're going up against native speakers and students who have taken German since middle school. I only got a 700 after 4 years of German, and I was prepared for 3rd- and 4th-year German classes as a freshman in college.

Yeah, I looked at those few books on Amazon..they are all only for the normal German SAT II, not with listening. I did only have one year of German, but I feel like I got a LOT more out of it than in my 3 years of Spanish in school. I've never had a measure of how good (or bad haha) my German is, but I'm hoping that since it's multiple choice it shouldn't be so bad. I understand pretty much everything I hear or read, unless it's terribly complex.

Thanks for your answer! I'd still like to hear from others..I always figured more people took this. None of the schools in my area offer German, so no one around here to ask!

bump..maybe more knowledge on the subject out there?
