Oooh. @londondad. I would definitely have your wife do that. Nothing to lose, right?
Good idea. I think he is due to contact my wife asking for money anyway! I will let you know what we find out!
Did your wife mention to anyone else in the NU network (or official NU capacity) that your D applied SCEA to Yale? If she did, don’t be surprised if that info eventually made it back to an NU rep.
^ Good point. We thought about this and she didn’t mention it to any of her NU alumni friends. She did attend a summer program at Yale over a year previously. The Yale program was listed on her Common App in passing but she never highlighted it in any of her essays either on the Common App or any of the individual uni essay supplements. Anyway at this point it does not really matter as she is off to Oxford next year.
@londondad: Congrats! That’s a terrific option for someone sure of what they want to study.
@PurpleTitan Thanks. That is what it boiled down to - focusing on one subject for 4 years rather than being in a liveral arts programme in the USA where she probably would have double-majored.
@londondad Wondering if your wife ever asked this NU rep how he knew your daughter applied SCEA Yale? I have a rising senior and just happened upon this thread. Your answer would be very helpful for many of us, and not just those applying to Yale or Northwestern.
Yale & Northwestern do not share applicant information. No reason to as they are not overlapping target schools.
It isn’t obvious or I wouldn’t have asked… And how do you know for sure that these two institutions don’t share? Please give a source.
I think we will ask him at some point. We are still in the process of boycotting NU and ignoring their numerous requests for alumni contributions and other alumni support!
