Our son has applied to five southeastern schools, and we've visited 4. All of his interviews went very well, and his credentials are solidly in the middle or above for all of the schools. In three cases we've heard nothing since the visits several weeks ago---no calls, e-mails or notes. In the other case we got a quick letter with a note at the bottom, but nothing since. I guess it depends on the school and their style, but I was hoping to have gotten something encouraging in the form of a "recruiting" message. Am I reading too much into this?

I think it’s style, not substance. My son got letters, cards and/or emails from both schools that waitlisted him and heard not a peep from the school where he’s just finished watching the SuperBowl in his dorm common room. :)

We received the usual post-interview thank you notes and one school sent a t-shirt and refrigerator magnet of their team mascot. Since we had met with the varsity coach we are hoping this is a positive sign but maybe they send it to everyone.

I was wondering the same thing. My daughter got some really nice thank you notes from one school in particular, and they sent me an email saying that when she interviewed they were kept thinking how much she could do for the school, and how much they could do for her. Keeping my fingers crossed. This wait is too long.

This is a tremendously busy time for AOs. It’s possible that their outreach to candidates suffers post application deadlines. Just a thought.
