Does not interviewing screw you over...

if you live within 150 miles?

yeah, i think so..

a family friend of mine went to haverford and he said he was basically the only person he knew who got in w/out an interview...

that was a while ago so things might have changed though

ick. i sent them an email for a time slot and havent been responded to

To be honest, it COULD "screw you over" if the admissions committee can't visualize you as a real person. If, even on paper, your personality, intelligence, and true character shine through, then you've got nothing to worry about. But if they can't form that image of you in their minds, it is to your disadvantage that you did not interview.

is it too late to do alumni interviews or something?

no it is not. i had one for tomorrow but the lady is out of town so its moved.

up until the 31st if you ask them nicely

How important is the interview? Could it really be a tip factor?

FWIW In their Common Data Set, Haverford says that interviews are "considered," but neither "very important" nor "important." This puts the interview in the same status as work experience, special talent or ability, geographic residence, minority status and alumna/e relation. (All according to their Common Data Set).
