i didnot have photos available at the moment that i sent my application
i also didnot send it with my certification from either
will that give a negative impression on the adcom?
Is that all necessary?
What are photos used for?
Do they really have effects on decision?

Uh.... no.

probably not
i didnt send a pic in
but i freaked out and thought maybe its easier to reject a faceless app

It probably helps a little if you're good looking... but not much

^^^lol. penn tries to admit attractive people (since philly was rated ugliest city), so if you're nice looking, attach a picture- it will definitely help!

lol if you're HOT u should definitely send them one NOW!

lol yep... it will probably increase your chances some. haha!

yea, you should! (if you're hot)
if you're freakishly ugly... refrain

is it me or do all of your photos look pretty crappy b/c the file size is so small??

there might be something to the idea of it being harder to reject someone after seeing their pic and realizing that they are a real person

It's wrong on principle.

I was a child model! :)

Haha, anyway...I decided not to send a picture because I find it weird. Come on, it's college, not a beauty contest. I don't buy that "it's nice to attach a face to an application" argument.

haha speaking of beauty pageant... i sent in three pictures in a ms word file. one was in a prom dress (formal wear) a tigger suit (swimwear) and something else for talent but i forget. i put the little captions underneath and all because i thought it would be funny. it was a gamble but whatever, i got in

I thought it was kinda weird because they said to send one so they can match your face up with someone they've seen before. But seriously, half the applicants probably never even visited Penn before x)

...how do they remember whom they've seen before

lol but if your SEXY i think ur photo would be a hook =)

Sometimes, the admissions officer will recognize you from a series of information sessions (I went to three). In that case, it might help.. marginally.

myonlyonexo, i sent in a beauty pageant picture too haha... as well as a senior picture.

I applied early this fall and I got in without attaching a photo of myself. In the days before I was notified of my decision, I kept worrying about the photo. But in hindsight, I don't think it makes a difference.
Let me put it this way: if they're gonna reject you, It won't be because they didnt know what you look like. And on the flip side, they won't accept you because they think you look good.

Best of luck.
