Im honestly terrible at math. Would not taking pre calc hurt my chances for being admitted into any of the major Florida universities? (FAMU, UF, FSU, UCF, USF, etc.)
I plan on majoring in general business and getting certified for real estate. My math courses taken so far are alg 1 hon, geo hon, alg 2 hon, trig, and im thinking of either taking ap stat or pre calc hon on flvs.

A business major will likely have to take calculus, so you should take whatever courses in high school will prepare you to take calculus in college (or you can take calculus in high school if you are ready now).

I think that most colleges want you to take 4 years of math. Look at your potential colleges and see if they require calculus. See if calculus is a pre-requisite for classes you want. Also see if they have a pre-calc available as a freshman.

Business majors can often take a course called Applied Calculus that is a little easier than regular Calculus.

Calculus is generally a staple for business majors.

If you can, try taking pre-calc during the summer at the CC? That way you won’t be too far behind entering college.

Our son took Alg. 2 on FLVS and he said he didn’t think he learned very much. FLVS can be great if you get a strong teacher, but it’s a bit of a chance to take. If you have a strong Calculus teacher at your high school, it might be best to take Calc and plan extra time in your week to go in for help or tutoring. Or, if your school has a National Honor Society tutoring program, your peers could help as well. Best of luck to you!
