Does Notre Dame require 1st quarter grades?

I looked on the website and didn't see anything, and it's not something I want to ask my rep because it might come across as me not wanting to show my grades because I'm slacking off for senior year. All 5 of my classes are APs, my most difficult course load so far, but they're also my worst grades so far (2 B+s, I got one B+ junior year and none frosh/soph year). I don't think sending in my grades would be helpful. Additionally, due to the hurricane, my school extended our 1st quarter (21st) and grades aren't finalized until about a week later, which doesn't leave much time to send them and have ND review them (I'm assuming, I could be wrong about that). Do I need to send in my first quarter grades/would it hurt my application not to?

I would think your counselor sent in whatever grades were available at the time he/she submitted your rec, assuming you applied EA. My daughter applied EA, but her school only publishes semester grades on the transcript, so no first quarter grades were sent as far as I know. A number of kids from her school have been admitted EA in the last few years, so I don’t think lack of first quarter grades is a problem.

Ok thanks!

I actually called the admissions office a few days ago with the same question, they said it’s not required but if you want to send them you can. I’m not sending mine because of a B+ in AP calc that just doesn’t sit right with me, especially considering how tough ea is

I know how you feel- I don’t think I’m going to send mine in either as they can only hurt me. Thanks!

My school automatically sends first quarter grades to all ED and EA schools students are applying to, then first and second quarter grades to all RD schools. It’s really whatever the school does.
