Hello,

I'm currently a freshman in high school and I did extremely bad my freshman year ;

AVID - A
PE - B
Honors Bio - C
Spanish - B
Geometry - B
English - B

And I have a feeling my second semester, or final grades will come out similar to my first semester. And, I was wondering, does NYU factor in freshman grades for consideration an acceptance to the school?

Short answer: YES!

Long answer: You need to understand that all schools look at freshmen grades. Whether or not the recalculate the GPA of all applicants is irrelevant - the grades are right there staring them in the face on your transcript. Anyway, if you’re on CC as a freshmen you’re doing something right ;). You’ll be fine, your grades aren’t that horrible and you have three years to turn it around and prove yourself. Upward trends are looked favorably upon. But remember, college admissions are a crap shoot.
