Is it true that Stern is the hardest school to be accepted out of all the schools offered by NYU?

Technically, NYU Abu Dhabi is, with an acceptance rate lower than Harvard.

Stern is traditionally thought to be the most difficult to get into; but it seems that the gap between Stern and other NYU schools is closing - for example, Stern and CAS have similar acceptance rates; similar SAT scores, etc.

Is Abu Dhabi really harder to get into than Harvard? Why is this?

It’s because their class consists of 150-200 students with 6,000-15,000(?) applicants, so the acceptance rate hovers around 1.3-3.3%. But in reality, only about 2,000 students mark NYUAD as their primary choice with serious consideration of attending, so that would bring the acceptance rate wayyy up to somewhere around 10% which is greater than Harvard’s (and Yale, Princeton, MIT, Stanford, Williams, etc.) Although, NYUAD still has the lowest acceptance rate for all NYU schools with Stern probably following in second.

Does anyone know the acceptance rate for Stern?

… bsumone93, the number of people who are ‘seriously considering attending’ does not affect the acceptance rate. The acceptance rate is what it is. The acceptance rate for students who only apply to NYUAD and not to NYU as well may be higher, but that doesnt change the acceptance rate; it merely reflect the acceptance rate among a certain population

Straight answer from a pure academic standpoint, Abu Dhabi not-included, is yes. Statistically, Stern will be the hardest to get into. Tisch application also not considered, since it does have auditions which some people might say make it easier or harder.
