I've sent in my ED applications and I was wondering if they some sort of an online system where I could check the status of my app (something similar to Penn Portal).

How are decisions sent for international students? (via snail mail or email)

When I applied (fall of '07), Oberlin had no online system for applications, and I’m pretty sure that hasn’t changed. US students get decisions by mail, international students by mail and e-mail. Hang in there!

Quaere is right, we don’t have an online system where you can check the status of your application. We’re trying to have something in place so that applicants will be able to check online to see if all their application materials have been received, but it will probably not be fully implemented this year (and isn’t available right now for ED students).

International students receive admissions decisions by email notification in addition to regular mail, US students only receive paper notifications.

Yup. thebigcheese, if it’s a big fat white envelope, it’s good news. I don’t know what the bad news paper notification looks like or I’d tell you. Maybe Elizabeth will tell us.
