What class was the F in? Honestly it looks pretty bad and it is unlikely that you will turn that F into an A.

It looks really bad.

What are we talking about here? Is this a college transcript or high school? I’m guessing high school since it’s in the college search forum.

If it’s high school, the transcript sent to colleges generally only shows the final grade so if it’s a full year course, the semester “F” won’t appear only the full year grade. If it’s only a semester class it will appear and won’t look good. See if you can re-take the course and ask your GC how it will appear on the transcript.

If this is a college transcript, re-take the course. Most colleges will allow this and while the “F” will still appear, the new grade will replace it in your transcript and you can discuss/explain it in any interview situation if you are asked. Leaving it as is on a college transcript would not be a good decision.

An “F” on a transcript looks really bad. Considering that your other grades are stellar, it leaves me mostly bewildered.

Yeah it does look bad. I don’t know how you calculated your GPA, but I got 3.52, even with all of those A’s. Do you see what an F does?

yes…
