Does one look better than the other?

as ive stated before ive been persuing a political internship for the summer. I was originally looking for one with a US Senator. one of my teachers, however, told me to contact several state senators that he knew. Would an internship with a state senator be less impressive than one with a US senator or not?

The chances of a high school student getting an intership with a US Senator is slim to none.

If your teacher is recommending people to you that would possibly be interested in doing this, then I would take full advantage of it. It's better to have a chance of something than nothing at all.

well ive had contact with the US Senator's office and I think I have a fair chance, but I wouldn't personally mind doing it at the state level (and I think I might actually be able to get a rec from the state senator because Id probably work through them more directly). just wondering if US senator internship will be weighted much more highly

Plus if you work with a state senator, you have a better chance of being able to live at home and thus save money while you do this (depending on your location within the state).

well obviously someone like John McCain will look better then Billy Bumpkin ""State representative""
