I ve heard that they dont even care about it and they are only interested in the essay

im not sure where u heard that but im not sure if any college (including the other ivies and top tier schools) in particularly takes the WR score that seriously - at THIS moment…b/c of course that could change very soon.

I would like to know too. And CU4L91, what was that that you just posted… I keep reading it and don’t understand a word haha

Really, NYorker? I had no trouble whatsoever understanding CU4L91.

oh wait hahah never mind i get it now… i guess i’m a little slooow

I don’t think they took it too too seriously, but obviously if you bombed it, then that’s some kind of red flag.

Well ,it`s not that i cant score pretty decent score of 740 on WR ,for example ,but i am just curious because when i saw the profile of Cornell on Collegeboard.com , I found out they didnt even take the WR .
Besides,I am an International student and my high school teacher told me that the US colleges only care about CR+M because they require TOEFL ,which is actually not necassery if I score 650+ on CR

Penn St gives writing equal weight for SAT. Please refer to the bubble chart to assess how likely you are to be admitted to Penn State. This chart is for 2008 entrance. 2009 numbers are slightly more competetive.

This isn’t Penn State…

Penn State is UPenn right? Hartford is Harvard right? Stamford College is Stanford right?

Although the score you get in WR is not used by many schools yet, the WR test is used in one paricular way by the colleges: I heard from an admissions officer at an admissions session (either Yale or Princeton, I think), that if your application essay looks like it was written by William Faulkner, and the school suspects something fishy, they will request a copy of your WR essay from College Board to compare writing styles, and you sure as heck better have gotten an 800 on the WR. Unless the scorer hated Faulkner. :-)

That’s the most ridiculously egregious thing I’ve ever read on this forum.

lol Brave Ulysses. What an idiot

Jokes on me , I misread the original post question and thought they were asking about Penn State.
I can assure that I know the diff between Penn & Penn St. and I can assure you that I am not an idiot!
Good luck at Penn!!
