Does pepperdine give out merit scholarships!?!?

Hi guys so I was just wondering if pepperdine offers scholarships due to academic achievement. If so, how difficult/what kind of scores would you need on average to get a scholarship? I lie the school but it's way too expensive without a scholarship! Thanks!

I know they do award substantial scholarships but I don’t now what kind of stats are needed for big awards. We live nearby and know several kids who have attended after receiving substantial awards.

You have to be in the top 10% of the accepted students. Not the top 10% of your high school class but of all the students admitted into pepperdine. The difficulty of getting that depends on your grades.

Ok thanks! I have. 28 ACt and a 4.36 or 3.96 unweighted GPA (hoping to get my act up), do u think I might have a chance?

I received a Dean’s Scholarship, the lowest merit scholarship that Pepperdine offers (22k/year), with a 2180 SAT and a 3.7 GPA (UW).

One of my friends was valedictorian at his high school and also got the Dean’s Scholarship; I have another friend who was also valedictorian and got the Seaver’s Scholarship, which I believe is in the middle (24k).

Judging by what I know of other scholars’ grades, I’m actually quite surprised that they gave me anything, but it was probably because of my SATs. That being said, your stats look good, but I’d consider retaking the ACT to give you that extra edge.

You could probably get at least the Dean’s Scholarship right now, but it’s worth aiming higher. Regents and Seaver scholars get to live in the best freshman dorms on campus, and they have access to special ceremonies and events. It’s the closest thing to an honors program at Pepperdine, and the scholars all become really good friends.

Ok wow thanks so much! I’m just worried because 70k a year is way to much for me! Does pepperdine give financial aid to out of state people who would not normally qualify for it (because the school is soo expensive)? Like to a family with more than 200k?

Pepperdine is a Private so out of state doesnt apply.

Also, it looks like tuition + housing etc is about $59k this year. Did it go up $11k
for FALL 2013 students?!

Bullet the blue sky. Actually, I think pepperdine is expensive. I got the Dean’s scholarship and still did not receive enough money to attend unfortunatley.

Yeah I feel like I will be in tag situation as well. And yes according to this website it’s 69k a year :(

Their scholarship system is a little messed up in my opinion, I had the dean scholarship but you could get even more scholarship from the different departments at school, fortunately I was able to email a music professor at school that was very interested in me, He was able to give me 35000 in music award which made going to Pepperdine affordable around 5000 a year.
if you really want to go there, they will have money for you, keep in mind they have 600 million endowment, it is just the effort you put in attempting to squeeze out the money from admissions.
Good Luck with everything, and I hope this helped :)

I also love pepperdine but I don’t know If I would attend with a merit scholarship. My stats are one a single SAT 2090, superscored 2100 and on the 1600 scale a 1410. I have a 31 ACT and a 4.1 w/3.92uw GPA. Any chances of a scholarship?
