this might be a stupid question but i need to know everything there is to know about Temple University's pharmacy program. i am a senior in highschool and want to apply there for pre pharmacy but im not sure if i could get in. If i were to apply, would i do it like everyone else or is there a specific way to apply if i want to get into the actual pre pharmacy program ?

The Temple campuses in Rome and Tokyo don’t offer science courses, so if you go abroad there isn’t anything you can take towards pre-pharmacy. If you are pre-pharmacy with a major in business or something not science related then there are courses you can take abroad. It might get in the way of things being that pre-pharmacy majors apply to pharmacy school 2 or 3 years into undergrad and going to Rome or Tokyo in spring or fall would interupt with the sciences. Unless you went over the summer or something, that could work.

Applying to pre-pharmacy is just like applying to any other program. I actually applied to Temple as pre-pharmacy and was admitted, but I immediately switched to kinesiology pre-health professions. I don’t even know how I was accepted to the pre-pharmacy program…horrible high school stats.

Thank you so much! Since you got into the pre pharmacy program there would you mind telling me what all your stats are? It would be much appreciated =]

Mine are horrible too, i have a 3.6 gpa
1110 on the SATs for verbal and math. 1620 total (i can raise this much higher when i retake them)
im on the border of being in the top 50% of a class of 400(its a really good private school though)
i play one instrument and one sport and i do ALOT of extra curriculars and volunteering(and i mean, alot !!)
i have never gotten any experience in a pharmacy though =[

do you think i have a chance of being accepted?

Ha! You think that’s horrible? I graduated high school with a 2.6 GPA, a few insignificant extra curriculars (volleyball, Asian student union, a couple of jobs, guitar), and I didn’t even take the SATs! I did transfer from a community college with a 3.5 GPA, but that was only with 18 credits.

So you are in, for sure. I did receive a letter from the head of the pre-pharmacy program saying they welcomed me as a Latino/Hispanic, but I don’t know how much that had to do with my admittance. It baffles my mind why I was accepted (maybe they liked my letter of intent and took into consideration they fact I went to 4 high schools, making it hard to get a solid education and do well in school), but you should get in without question.

where did you apply?
