I plan on taking the SAT this junior year, but does Pitt also want the ACT??? Should I take BOTH??? I know how to prepare for SAT, but how do u prepare for ACT???

Pitt will take the highest score from the SAT and ACT. There are plenty of tips on how to study for the ACT on the ACT forum of CC.

you don’t need to take the ACT if you are happy with your SAT scores. Either ACT or SAT is acceptable- if you happen to have taken both, then they will use your best scores from each test.

But what if I just took the SAT’s then would they also take the best score out of all my attempts??

They will superscore whatever you send them. If you send them SATs, then they will use the SATs. If you send them SAT and ACT, then they will use the best score from each.

And don’t send them more than 2 scores of each test total. My GC in HS used to say that a second attempt was fine (maybe you got test nerves, maybe the questions threw you off, whatever) but that a third attempt showed colleges that you weren’t attempting to study or TRY when you took the test.
