For your other schools check each website to see what type of financial aid they offer (merit and/or need based), and if FAFSA/CSS Profile are required for merit aid (there aren’t many schools that do).
Yep, Pomona gives no merit aid, so the question of what they require is moot.
In comparing schools, the Common Data Set information is useful. For example, here is Pomona’s most recent report: Box Section H2A gives information on non-need-based scholarships and grants. You can see that there is virtually none at Pomona (I don’t know what the single $5K scholarship is about, but it wasn’t for an entering student); the same data is available for other schools, to assess how much merit aid is available.
