does practice test really help?

i want to boost up my CR and writing score. is taking practice tests the best way?

Practice makes Perfect

Absolutely. Practice at first to get the answers right (and read explanations for answers you get wrong). Then do it under a timer. Eventually your scores will improve!

yeah, i improved my points 100 or so by doing practice tests

and especially in reading , do all the reading in every test material you can find, it helps a lot

Schitz, you're absolutely right.

Practice tests are probably the single best thing you can do to improve your score. My older son went from 1420 to 1600 in 2 months with practice tests and younger son went from 29 to 34 ACT in 4 months the same way. Neither of them took SAT or ACT prep courses. The key is to take the tests a section at a time, making sure to read the answer key to see why wrong answers are wrong and right answers are right.

It's a grind and it's no fun, but it works.

I went from 1970 to 1990! (my 1330/1600 stayed exactly the same)
it seems like it should help, it just didn't for me. if nothing else though it gives you a better feel for the format.
