<p>I couldn’t agree with you more. Whoever says you won’t get a job is an idiot. Also, Rose-Hulman seems like a fantastic school and I am considering it myself. Actually, it is ranked #1 among schools without a PhD program for engineering. I like your approach, go to a school that you will like. That is always a good idea.</p>
<p>As far as industry goes, it really depends. Some companies make it a point to only higher from the top schools (and probably offer higher salaries), other companies have target schools which are roughly the top 25-50, plus schools that are located near them, and some companies don’t care at all. For example, UCF is located right next to Kennedy Space Center. There are several people who work at KSC who graduated from UCF even though UCF isn’t ranked very high.</p>
