& do they (ao's) record how many times someone calls or e-mails etc? Couldn't find anything on it so might as well ask here

Maybe a little bit… I don’t think they would keep records of calls and emails though.

They did not respond to the question in the Common Data Set: http://registrar1.princeton.edu/data/common/cds2005.pdf.

In a more recent Common Data Set, they indicated that the level of applicant’s interest is not considered: http://registrar1.princeton.edu/data/common\cds2006.pdf.

They did ask for my last name each time I called. They could easily put two and two together with the information that they already have based upon the phone number, area code, last name, etc.

They did also take down names (school attended as well) at the regional information session I went to.

I hope they consider it.

I hope they value interest too. I sent in a gushing Why Pton essay with my app because Pton really is my first choice school. I really would attend Pton at full price over harvard or yale at half.

What has attracted you so much?

It was the only school where I had that “I wanna spend my next four years at” feeling. Idk…I didnt really like Yale and Harvard’s campus rubbed me the wrong way. With regard to academics, obviously all three are on par. Though, I simply loved the pton campus too much to turn it down for anything.

^ I, too, had a very good feeling when walking around the campus – in fact, it’s probably hard not to. My most significant reservation, however, is the grade deflation.

i feel the same exact way as rtgrove and silverturtle! princeton just felt like home to me… here’s to hoping. =]

“Students at any point in the process can tell us that Princeton is their first choice. As we move into this new one-application deadline process, I imagine there will be students who will tell us that Princeton is their first choice, and has been their first choice for a long time. The question, does it make a difference, is a good one, because in our pool with so many thousands of fabulous students, I’m not sure it’s ever made that much difference.”

“There are many students who have no ties to Princeton before they get here who didn’t understand a single thing about our institution, but were educated in the admission process and then chose us, and became some of our most loyal alumni.”
