Does Princeton recalculate GPA?

I heard that Princeton considers only the last two years of high school. Does that mean they recalculate gpa accordingly? If yes, how do they recalculate?

i think Princeton looks at your sophomore and junior year grades in ED, and senior year grades in mid-year report or if you are applying RD. i believe they recalculate your gpa, not 100% sure though.

Yeah, those are the last two years. If you take a gap year, they consider junior and senior grades.

Does anyone know if they take out all the junk classes, too? (Gym, chorus, etc.)? And do they weight for honors/AP, or just take it into consideration when looking at the number?

Bump.............

Can somebody answer us please :)

Please somebody help!

Freshmen year is taken out, last three years are used (in RD... ED is last 2). Academic courses are calculated only.

What do you mean by "Academic Courses?"

Academic as in not P.E., health, band/choir/orch.

So do they calculate it in the same way the UC system does (no PE, Health, junior and senior years only)?

Do they recalculate Weighted GPA?

is this supposedly recalculated GPA measured against others in our school, because I would surely have the highest GPA, i am currently 2/155

Everybody is asking questions, but nobody is answering them!

umm....I think that means that no one knows the answers

its probabbly coz Princeton never disclosed this information.

I hope they include Frosh grades as that's the only year I had straight As and hopefully they weigh too coz I am a Diploma Candidate.

I also hope that they take into account different grading scales. In my school 94+ is an A.

i thought that 94+ is an A almost everywhere, and i am pretty sure that Princeton doesn't look at freshman year grades, otherwise i would be happy too because i had a couple A+ in my frosh year

Meant to say sophmore and junior years.

Pretty sure they recalculate without freshmen year for the applicants who attend 3 year highschools...

when you guys say academic classes does that include academic electives or only like the core classes? and to poster above what is a 3 yaer high schooL? i thought they didnt count freshman grades for regular high school students
