I know that in my school grading is intense. My grade in AP English was 93 and that was the highest in the class, and trust me there are a lot of smarties in that class. So basically even really smart people dont have averages that are 98 or something because our grading is really hard. I am wondering whether Princeton will take into account that grading at some schools is harder than others and that a 93 in one school is equivalent to like a 96 or something somewhere else? I've seen a lot of schools where the top kids get averages like 98, while top kids in other places, like my shcool, have averages that are 94-95 with all the APs and stuff. Princeton definietly takes that into account right?

Absolutely. For well known schools that send many students, they have a very good idea of what specific grades mean. For relatively unknown schools, they'll look at your standardized test scores, rank, and other academic metrics to put your GPA in context.

yes, your class rank is a big factor.

How would a 92 look from this school Bronx High School of Science - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Okay. Not great, not bad. Why - do you have a 92? It will keep you in the running but won't be considered a "plus" in your application.

^I disagree, if the rest of your stats match up, a 92 from Bronx School of Science is very impressive. Just graduating from there is impressive.

Yea, no, a 92 from BSci is not really all that great. Isn't that about average?

There are too many students at Bronx Science, and many of them are generic. Many of them are also academically strong, and the best colleges will prefer them instead.

If you consider schools like Hunter and Regis, however, where the student bodies are small, and ALL students are gifted and intelligent, that's a different story.
