Does Princeton take into account demonstrated interest through the interview?

Question ^

My interviewer seemed to believe that I was qualified after asking about my grades and sat scores. He then asked what colleges I applied to and which ones early action, and then he got the impression that my first choice was the college I applied to early (and got deferred from). He even proceeded to give me advice about how to show my interest (which he said was important) to get in the college I got deferred from, talking more about that than Princeton.

So my question is will all of this make a difference? Is the Princeton interviewer supposed to evaluate an applicant's interest in and fit for Princeton?

I don’t think so. It’s not about interest - that comes with just applying. It’s more if you demonstrate the qualities they are looking for and if you seem like a good fit. I wasn’t sure about what my first choice was for college, and it didn’t turn out to be a big deal. It seems, though, that your interviewer was a nice guy. =)
