Does Purdue Have Rolling Admissions This Year?

I'm trying to apply for Purdue's Engineering School and I would like to know if Rolling Admissions still exists because on its website I could not find anything on Rolling. All I saw was a Priority Deadline.

[Purdue University - Important Dates](http://admissions.purdue.edu/Admissions_Criteria/Important_Dates.html)
^the info is right on their website

[Purdue University - Merit_Scholarships](http://admissions.purdue.edu/costs/merit_scholarships.html)
^Get your app in by Nov. 15th if you want to be considered for a merit scholarship

Yes I have seen that page before

Freshman Deadlines

* November 15 priority* deadline: Environmental Health Sciences, Medical Technology, Occupational Health Sciences, Preprofessional Health Sciences, and Radiological Health Sciences

 • November 15 firm* deadline: Nursing, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prepharmacy, and Veterinary Technology
 • November 15 firm* deadline: Purdue scholarship consideration
 • March 1 priority* deadline: All academic programs other than those noted in November 15 deadlines (applying August-October is strongly recommended)

To meet the freshman application deadline: applications must be complete - all required material received or postmarked by the deadline. Required material includes: application form (online preferred), application fee, high school transcript, SAT or ACT test score (including writing; test scores must be sent electronically from testing agency).

No where does it say anything about Rolling though/

Did you read the entire page in the link?

“Purdue will begin releasing admission decisions for fall applicants after 5 p.m. Eastern on December 10, 2010. However, decisions are not guaranteed by this date, and students who apply later are less likely to have a decision by December 10.”

^This is what rolling admissions means: You’ll get your decision as they process the applications rather than waiting for all of the decisions to be released at the same time.

It sounds like Purdue prefers that students apply early. Your best chance for a merit scholarship is to submit the complete application by Nov. 15th.

I see, I didn’t know that blurb actually meant rolling admission. Thanks a lot. Could you Chance me though? I’m trying to get into Purdue’s School of Engineering.

^Questions and answers specifically related to the College of Engineering

from the link above:

What high school classes are required to be a Purdue Engineering student?

It is important to take as much math, science, and English as possible. Students who are admitted to Purdue typically have taken pre-calculus or calculus in high school. We require a year of high school chemistry and strongly recommend students take physics as well. The more rigorous the classes (AP, IB, Honors), the better prepared you will be for your first year of college. For minimum course requirements, go to Admission Criteria.

What are the Average Test Scores and GPA for First Year Engineering Students?

There are a number of factors that the Purdue Office of Admissions considers for acceptance to the First-Year Engineering Program. For Engineering, standardized test scores and grades in math, science, and English are very important criteria. Typically, those admitted to the First-Year Program are A and B students in high school. Students enrolled to the College of Engineering for 2010 had an average SAT in the middle 50% range of 1720-2010. Of the students that enrolled, 50% had a GPA between a 3.4-3.8, and an ACT Composite of 26-31.

From those statistics, I believe I’m a match?

I agree. Put it on your list as a “match”. Hopefully, you’ve taken math through AP Calculus (if you’re planning on applying as an Engineering major).

I’d be very surprised if you aren’t accepted. The SAT is very good and the civil engineering internship will look very good.

If I were to apply to Georgia Tech I wouldn’t be a match. Their average admitted stats are far more impressive

you should get in
