Does religion play a role in admission?

Im half jewish and half catholic. I kind of practice both religions but im not offically Jewish or catholic. Im not an athiest or anything i just wasnt raised to be a part of an organized religion, even though i go to church sometimes with my mom and was taught to believe in god. Would i be penalized for not actively participating in or being a part of a religious community? Secondly, would the fact that im half jewish help me because they are looking for diversity or would it hurt me because BC is a jesuit university?

I had no religious activities reported in my application, and I was recently accepted. They look for the quality of the student as a whole. If religion is your passion, that's great. If basketball is your passion, that's great too. They're not looking for one particular quality in all applicants but what makes each applicant unique as an individual.

In my opinion... :P

No. Religion plays zero role in admissions; doesn't matter if you're jewish, atheist, 21st generation Catholics, or Muslism. They do ask (optional) for your religious affiliation for statistic sake and only for statistic sake.

Though being active in a church or church related activity will look favorable.
