Does requesting a roommate lower your chances of getting 1st choice dorm?

Title pretty much says it all....a few people at school have asked me, and I'm curious. If you request a roommate, do you have a lesser chance of getting one of your top-choices in dorms (say, plaza/hall double)? Like do they basically say "Hey, we gave you one thing you wanted, so you get the hall triple"?

thanks :)

When I went to College Welcome Day thats exactly what the guy said. They will try to accomodate your first choice, but then for the choice of dorm you get whichever they need to fit you in. So yeah, it pretty much does lower your chance if not eliminate it. Then again, he showed us the stats and the chances for Halls and Plazas are 50/50 anyways (only 250 suites offered), so you still have a good chance at getting what you want by luck.

There are only about 300-ish suites to start out with anyways.

Yes. charmander
