I know that on the SAT, you can take two or three times (well technically as much as you want, but it is recommended to take it two or three times). Would it look bad on a college application that you took an sat subject test more once (I'm talking about big time schools like ivies and other top schools)? I know that you do not have to send the worse score, but can colleges still see that you took it more than once it you only send one score?

I have done a lot of reading this past month and saw on a website of a top school that they in fact discourage you from taking tests more than 2-3 times. I cannot remember which school it was otherwise I would provide a link. The point was that 2-3 tests usually give a pretty clear picture of applicant’s knowledge.

P.S. Some schools require you to send a complete test taking history, so they can see which tests you have taken and what scores you have received.
