Hi, You'll. I'm an incoming freshmen. I've heared a lot about MCM and think it's a wonderful opportunity.

So does rice send a team to compete in MCM? And if anyone has participated in it, mind sharing your experience?

have not heard of it, but that really doesnt mean much.

Hopefully someone here knows for sure. If not, maybe email the rice departments?

I have heard of it, and I think they do. I know they participate in another math competition <a href=“William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition - Wikipedia”>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Lowell_Putnam_Mathematical_Competition I’ll be a freshman at the University of Houston this year, and I’m hoping to talk to the Math Department at Rice about maybe letting me participate since UH doesn’t have a team. I’m a Physics major, by the way. :)

you should be able to compete on your own. I know someone who did something like that, I think

Putnam is a lot harder than MCM, and I have lost my confidence in AIME duirng high school. But Good luck.

Really, I always thought MCM was a group competition.

^^ the putnam
