What would they do if you did?

I had two teachers write letters of recommendation and my guidance counselor. I wouldn't ask more than 2 teachers

I have 2 teachers, my Debate Coach, and my guidance counselor. Is that bad?

your guidance counselor doesn't count as one of the two recs

a debate coach isn't too great of a person to ask unless they know you very well

RPI looks for math/science teacher recommendations, not other subjects

Well I got a rec from my AP Physics Teacher, my Science Research Teacher. My debate team is small, so my coach knows me really well.

Oi what a ridiculous question. NO of course not

i sent two (math and english) and got in.
sending two is fine. three is iffy.

I thought that you only had to send one and that it could either be from your guidance counselor or a math/science teacher...i only sent one in from my guidance counselor..do i need to send another one?

your guidance counselor one doesn't count as a letter of recommendation... nearly all guidance counselors are mandated to send even a one sentence letter of recommendation for each student

you should get at least one additional letter of recommendation, two is really good, no more than 2 though

thanks for telling me, hopefully i can still get it in before the rd deadline

I talked to an admissions counselor when i visited and he suggested i send in ones other than the one, and also said something about sending in my CD that was recorded for concert band... so i think not.

is there a special form for the letters of recommendation? or do you just have your teacher type/write it up on a random sheet of paper?

It varies from school to school.. usually the teacher and guidance counselor write a letter on school letter head. Some schools have supplemental forms that need to be filled out by teacher or guidance... sometimes check off, sometimes asking specific questions

No. No schools do. Just make sure that there is a GOOD reason to add that 3rd recommender. They DO Penalize you for annoying them with unnecessary information. haha
