Does Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) reset after I achieve an associate degree?

For example,

I am not meeting satisfactory academic progress at the community college currently. However, I am still taking classes and moving toward my Associate Degree. After I achieve my Associates, will The federal SAP standard reset at the first semester of my 4-year program after transfer? Or will the SAP disqualification follow me, even after I get my “1st degree”?

Your four year college will have its own SAP requirements. But they WILL look at your grades from previous colleges…and if you didn’t meet SAP there…and your grades are substandard…a,d course completion not great…you might not meet the 4 year school SAP requirement.

Hi everyone, I would like to give an update to this question. Embarrassingly to say, I simply sent an email to an admissions counselor and ask this question:

“Will the SAP for FAFSA reset after I graduate and transfer to a 4 year university? Or will the SAP follow me. Also, if UCSD accepts me, what would happen if the transfer student is SAP disqualified?”

UCSD admissions counselor had this to say:

“Yes, if you were to be admitted into UCSD, your SAP would be restarted here. However, you do need to complete 36 units a year at UCSD with a 2.0 GPA in addition to the PACE requirement to be eligible for financial aid from year to year here.”

So that solves that. Ill leave this here in case anyone else needs this info.

Ill be checking all the UC’s and Ill post their responses here.
