I see some northern San Diego county transfer applicants mentioning that they would be considered local to SDSU because CSUSM does not offer their selected major.
Is this the case for northern San Diego county freshman applicants also?
I’ve never seen it written anywhere but it would make complete sense.

You are in SDSU’s local admissions area if you graduate from a high school in San Diego County located south of state route 56 and extending eastward, or a high school in Imperial County.
For Transfers: Each program is impacted. Students transferring from or earning an ADT from Cuyamaca College, Grossmont College, Imperial Valley College, San Diego City College, San Diego Mesa College, San Diego Miramar College, and Southwestern College. Students transferring from MiraCosta College and Palomar College in majors not offered at CSU San Marcos
