Does speaking 5 languages help during admission?

I’m fluent in 5 languages (Dutch,English,Spanish,French and Papiamentu - a c reole language.) Will my fluency give me an advantage over other applicants?

Yes, it's a good thing that you're fluent in 5 languages.

you have to show it in your application somehow...speaking 5 languages is pretty intense

Yes you bring something new to the university. Make your essay fly and see what happens

I figured I would have an advantage, but seeing as it is Ivy League I doubt that that would be considered unusual among other applicants.

Thank you :)

Speaking five languages is fairly unusual anywhere you go. The Ivy League schools are not an exception.

Send five applications. One in each language.

Ha! That would be expensive and time-consuming, but quite memorable.
I doubt they would be able to understand Papiamentu, which is only spoken by 200,000 people worldwide.

I Speak 6 Languages

English
French
Malayalam
Hindi
Tamil
Arabic

2 European Languages That Influenced India, 3 Indian Languages, And One Middle-eastern LANG. I Learned While Living In Saudi Arabia.

That's very impressive, but what is your point?

some one said spking 5 languages is intense...frm my point of view its pretty easy....maybe its coz i come frm a country w/ many languages.

The question wasn't whether or not we cared if speaking 5 or more languages was intense tom.

Yes, speaking multiple languages is a minor plus for nearly any school, add it to the app anywhere you see fit.

"you have to show it in your application somehow...speaking 5 languages is pretty intense"

i was just replying to only that person and only him/her

[and I'm already in college, just checking around here]

[and I'm already in college, just "trolling" around here]

fixed that for you

i guess that applies to u since u just fixed mine

i think you got attacked tom because your tone came off as bragging and deragatory. claps for everyone who can speak more than their first language! it may have came off as more helpful and purposeful if you gave a personal anecdote of how it helped or did nothing for you while being able to speak 6 languages.

dog, stop the ****ing circle jerk. no one cares how big your dick is.

How exactly would you tell the adcoms which languages you speak?

"dog, stop the ****ing circle jerk. no one cares how big your dick is."

well, there is no need in using this language.
we are all civilized people.
but then again this language exists in every language and we all know how to use. but Ivy students lower themselves by cursing.

listen its not my fault your brain feels that i am bragging.
My point was its wasn't that intense for me to learn those 6 languages.
Because I lived in 4 countries (India, Saudi Arabia,Canada, US) and I am 18.

YOUR GUYS BRAINS ARE AGITATED FOR SOME REASON, THATS ALL.

i am not saying I am better or something like that.
i never said that.

you Ivy dudes are probably better than me.
