Does Sprint have good cell phone coverage at Wellesley?

Does Sprint have good cell phone coverage at Wellesley College and in the Wellesley, Natick, Framingham (& Boston) area? We currently have Verizon Wireless and I was thinking of switching our family share plan to Sprint.

Thanks!

I think so...the most important thing to know about cell phones and Wellesley is to not get T Mobile, which has no coverage. I've seen people do some pretty ridiculous things trying to get service on campus-- alas, all in vain.

haha I have T-Mobile.
T-Mobile doesn't work anywhere anyway.
It gets 1-2 bars of reception in my own house, and none in my friends' houses.

what about verizon wireless?

Verizon's the most popular near wellesley, and gets very good reception.

I had Verizon all four years with great success. It gets solid reception all over campus. Sprint is a little less reliable (especially depending on the area of campus), but it's not as bad as T-Mobile.

yay, i don't have to switch :)

Verizon is good. I had Cingular my first year and that seemed to be fine as well.

DO NOT GET TMOBILE.

yeah, seriously. I went to visit once and Tmobile only had reception once you get off campus... I felt so disconnected from the outside world lol

Well, we switched to Sprint from Verizon and I have to say that Verizon's coverage is better at Wellesley. Sprint isn't too bad but one will probably experience dropped calls, especially in dorms on the east side of campus. Staying near the dorm window seems to fix that problem. Outdoor calls seem to work pretty well anywhere on campus.

Conclusion: If you want the best cell phone coverage at Wellesley get Verizon.

I’m about to start my exchange semester at Wellesley. I’m wondering if there has been any development in the past few years, or whether the hierarchy is still

 1. Verizon
 2. AT&T aka Cingular
 3. Sprint

Also, has anyone had any experience of using metropcs and what was it like?

Lastly, does anyone know of a good short-term/contractless deal?

Thanks so much!

I haven’t had any problems with Verizon. I have a friend who has Tracfone. She commented that it gets expensive, so she’s thinking of switching to Straight Talk. Both use the Verizon network.

So, any idea if ATT wireless reception is OK at Wellesley? My D is starting in the Fall and wants to get an iPhone!

My daughter just finished her first year at Wellesley. We have AT&T and she has an iPhone. She said the reception was fine, however, she said a lot of students have issues in the dorms (regardless of carrier) because of the thick walls/construction. But we have no plan to switch to anything else.
