It would seem logical, but on their booklet they say they look at "sophomore and junior year grades only".

Any input on this?

where did you find the " sophomore and junior year grades only"

Since there is a mid-year report, I'm fairly certain that they want to see that you are still putting forth an effort in school.

They do for RD. For EA it's sophomore and junior year grades only.

"How important is high school rank and GPA?
We will look at your choice of coursework and your performance in 10th and 11th grades in the core academic subjects of Math, English, Social Studies, Science, and Foreign Language. We want to see that you have challenged yourself by taking some of the accelerated, honors, Advanced Placement, or International Baccalaureate courses, if they are offered at your school. We will re-calculate your GPA on an unweighted 4.0 scale."

I wonder how they calculate gpa for people with 'A' level qualifications.

"We will re-calculate your GPA on an unweighted 4.0 scale."

OMG, 3.8 unweighted GPA with 4.8 weighted would surely killed.
