Does Stanford rescind applications?

Hi all,

I got accepted to Stanford early and my acceptance letter included the stipulations that I maintain my academic performance, don’t receive any grade below a B-, and that I get an overall senior year GPA of 3.75. That GPA is higher than any GPA I’ve gotten in highschool and while I’m roughly on pace for that now (one B 1st quarter, one B 2nd quarter) will they actually rescind my acceptance if I’m just slightly below that number? Additionally, they won’t see my final grades until July so would they actually take away my acceptance a month or so before school starts and leave me with no options for college? I think I’ll be able to hit the GPA mark, but I’m still a little bit nervous about this.

Thank you to everyone in advance!

Yes, Stanford has rescinded acceptances in the past.

Can they do that? Yes. However, I have never heard of an acceptance being rescinded for not having a 3.75 (or for getting a C, for that matter). If your senior grades are close to your earlier grades, you’ll be fine, IMO.

If they have already given you a minimum GPA, your priority should be to stay above that!

Does Stanford rescind applications ? No. But Stanford does rescind acceptances.
