Does Stanford still require a counselor recommendation?

My relationship with my counselor is less than stellar, pretty much sums up the reason behind the discussion title. And if Stanford doesn’t, how would that work on the common app?

I think counselor rec. is a part of the Common App requirement.
Stanford uses Common App.

Besides you will apply to several colleges, not just Stanford. Most selective colleges require counselor rec.
